i
06 September 2005
AGE-NC Project No 01-0877
I (µg11)in sample MW-4 to 500,000 µg/1 in sample MW-3 BTEX compounds were detected in water
`samples collected from all wells,the maximum concentrations were 140,000 µg/1 benzene(MW-3),
86,000 µg/1 toluene (MW-1 and MW-3), 11,000 µg/1 ethylbenzene(MW-1),and 124,000 µg/1 total
xylenes (MW-1) '
1,2-DCA was detected in the water samples collected from all wells at a maximum concentration
of 1,100 µg/1(MW-3)and EDB was detected in the all water samples collected from MW-1 through
MW-3 with a maximum concentration of 80 µg/1(MW-3) TAME was detected in the water samples
collected from MW-1 through MW-3 with a maximum concentration of 740 µg/l(MW-1) No other
' target analytes were detected at or above laboratory reporting limits in the ground water samples
analyzed
Concentration maps depicting the approximate distribution of dissolved TPH-g and benzene are
presented in Figures 4 and 5,respectively The analytical results of ground water samples collected
' on 26 April 2005 are summarized in Table 2 The laboratory report (CTEL Project No CT214-
0504253),quality assurance/quality control(QA/QC)report,and chain of custody forms are included
in Appendix C Documents confirming the upload of laboratory electronic deliverable format(EDF)
' . files and depth to water measurements to GeoTracker are included in Appendix D
4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
The following conclusions were drawn from the results of this investigation
• During the April 2005 monitoring event, the average ground water elevation at the site was
16 15 feet below MSL The ground water table formed a shallow west-trending plunging-
ridge, with ground water flow toward the northwest under a gradient of approximately 0 014
foot/foot and to the southwest under a weaker gradient of approximately 0 008 foot/foot
(Figure 3)
• High concentrations of TPH-g and BTEX compounds were detected in all water samples
collected during the second quarter 2005 with a maximum concentration of TPH-g at
' 500,000 µg/l (MW-3) and benzene at 140,000 µg/1 (MW-3) 1,2-DCA was detected in the
water samples collected from all wells at a maximum concentration of 1,100 µg/1 (MW-3)
and EDB was detected in the all water samples collected from MW-1 through MW-3 with
' a maximum concentration of 80 pg/l'(MW-3) TAME was detected In the water samples
collected from MW-1 through MW-3 with a maximum concentration of 740 µg/l (MW-1)
• The fuel additives MTBE,TBA,DIPE and ETBE were not detected this quarter in any of the
ground water samples
Advanced Geo Environmental,Inc
