610 HUNTER , STOCKTON
FARMER' S PROPERTY
PAGE 2
• Installation of a Gast 2567-P132-T908X rotary vane compressor with maximum of 20
pounds per square inch pressure and 18 standard cfin.
• Installation of associated subsurface (2 feet bsg) and surface piping, meters, and
control instrumentation
• Construction of a shed to preclude public access and reduce noise.
• Sampling and maintenance of the system.
COMMENTS AND CONDITIONS:
San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD)
provides the following comments and conditions on the proposed work:
ATC calculated the volume of impacted soil to be treated at 245,430 cubic feet ( 10 feet of
thickness at an area of 24,543 square feet), and estimated about 38,964 pounds of
gasoline and 121 pounds of benzene in the soil. The contaminant mass in groundwater
was not calculated since the lateral extent of the contamination has not been defined.
This is required for interim remediation.
A pore volume calculation for the SVE system using the pore volume exchange rate and
the porosity of the soil being treated must be submitted to PHS/EHD by December 24,
2001 . PHS/EHD recommends that the system achieve one pore volume of soil vapor
extraction daily. If additional work is required to accomplish this an addendum to the
work plan should be submitted. Submit any additional information and work plan
addendum with the pore volume calculation.
REASONS FOR DISAPPROVAL OF THE WORKPLAN (H&S 25299.372
subd.(C) (3) .) :
None
DATEDNOV 2`Z 20 1BY JeffreyWong&SeniorHS LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV
c: Drew Van Allen - ATC Associates Inc.
