; v I Interim Remediation Plan Farmer Property 610 North Hunter Street Stockton, California ATC Project No . 54. 62596. 0001 1 .0 INTRODUCTION ATC Associates Inc. has prepared this Interim Remediation Plan for the proposed remediation system at Farmer Property in Stockton, California. The proposed remediation system is designed to cleanup petroleum hydrocarbon impacted soil and groundwater at the site. The hydrocarbons of primary concern are total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg), benzene, and methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE). While other hydrocarbon constituents have also been detected at the site, the extents and concentrations are generally less of a concern than TPHg, benzene, and MTBE. 2.0 SITE DESCRIPTION AND BACKGROUND The site is located on the north side of Oak Street and the east side of Hunter Street, Stockton , California, as shown on Figure 1 . The location is a commercial and residential area . The location of the existing monitoring wells, vapor extraction wells, building, former underground storage tanks (USTs), and other pertinent features are shown on Figure 2. The site is bound by Canepas Car Wash to the north, a vacant lot on the east, Oak Street to the south, and Hunter Street on the west. 21 Undereround Storage Tanks On October 6, 1987, Al Williamson, General Contractor, removed two 1 ,000-gallon leaded gasoline tanks and one 550-gallon waste oil tank from the locations shown on Figure 2 . Soil samples collected after the tank removals contained elevated concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) . 2_2 Regional Geology and Hydrogeology The site is underlain by the Modesto Formation, which is divided into nonmarine basin deposits, fan deposits, and stream channel deposits consisting of clay, silt, and sand (Rogers, 1966) .
