The groundwater sample will
immediately be placed in a cooler chilled with ice and delivered under chain of custody procedures to
the analytical laboratory selected to conduct the ozone treatment bench scale study.
Groundwater Sample Analyses
The groundwater sample collected from groundwater monitoring well MW3 will be analyzed for
gasoline ranged organics (GRO), known also as TPHg utilizing EPA Method 801513 ; for BTEX,
MTBE, TBA, DIPE, ETRE, TAME, 1 ,2-DCA, and EDB utilizing EPA Method 826013; CAM 17
Metals by EPA Method 6010; and hexavalent chromium by EPA Method 7199. ATC would prefer
to analyze the groundwater samples for dissolved metals.
Investigative Derived Waste
Drill cuttings and purged groundwater will be collected and stored on-site in department of
transportation (DOT) approved 55-gallon drums and will remain on-site pending proper waste profile
characterization and disposition at a State permitted landfill or approved transport, storage, and
disposal facility.
REPORT PREPARATION
Upon completion of the field activities and the bench scale study, a summary report will be prepared
describing the field activities. The report will include recommendations regarding the installation
and/or conversion of remediation wells and conducting an ozone sparge pilot test to evaluate the
feasibility of this remedial approach to mitigate petroleum hydrocarbon impacted groundwater
beneath the site. The summary report will be submitted to the SJCEHD approximately 60 days
following the completion of the bench scale study.
The work described in this workplan will be performed under the direction of a California Registered
Professional Engineer or California Registered Professional Geologist and will be performed in
accordance with ATC ' s site specific health and safety plan.
s:\environmental\62596\reports\workplan for soil sampling 5
