Hunter Street in Stockton, California (Figure 1) The Groundwater <br /> Discharge Permit (GDP) was approved by the City of Stockton Department of Municipal <br /> Utilities on November 6, 2002 <br /> REMEDIATION SYSTEM DESCRIPTION <br /> On December 20, 2002, ATC personnel started up the soil and groundwater remediation system <br /> at the above referenced property The remediation system includes a thermal oxidizer to <br /> remediate petroleum-impacted vapors and a carbon filtration system to remediate petroleum- <br /> impacted groundwater extracted from the subsurface Groundwater is collected into a knockout <br /> drum, treated, and then discharged <br /> SELF-MONITORING ACTIVITIES <br /> ATC personnel monitored the groundwater discharge system on January 3, January 10, January <br /> 17, January 24, and January 28, 2003 In accordance with the City of Stockton Department of <br /> Municipal Utilities GDP requirements, the flow, total flow, and Lower Explosive Limits (LEL <br /> for gasoline) were continuously recorded Also in accordance with the GDP, on January 10, <br /> 2003, ATC collected grab, well mixed, and representative samples of the final treated <br /> groundwater The groundwater samples were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as <br /> gasoline (TPHg) by EPA method 8015, benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, and xylenes (BTEX), <br /> and methyl tertiary butyl ether(MTBE) utilizing EPA method 8020 <br /> ATC inadvertently did not analyze the final treated groundwater for pH by EPA method 150 1, <br /> total petroleum.
