1 � <br /> i <br /> ASSOCIAT ES INC <br /> the overexcavation still contained elevated concentrations of volatile organics The <br /> overexcavated soil was disposed of at Forward Landfill <br /> 1 <br /> On June 30 and July 1, 1997, Smith Technology personnel supervised advancement of seven soil <br /> 1 borings, SBI through SB7, at the site to depths ranging from approximately 40 to 45 feet bgs at <br /> the site to investigate the horizontal and vertical extent of petroleum hydrocarbon impacted soil <br /> and groundwater Three of the soil borings were completed as groundwater monitoring wells and <br /> 1 two of the soil borings were completed as vapor extraction wells The analytical results of soil <br /> and groundwater samples indicated the site was impacted with petroleum hydrocarbons Field <br /> 1 activities and analytical results were detailed in Smith Technology's Summary Report dated <br /> September 17, 1997 <br /> 1 ATC was retained by Mr and Mrs Raymond Farmer to perform an additional subsurface <br /> investigation at the site This work was performed at the request of San Joaquin County Public <br /> ' Health Services Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) <br /> 2.0 METHOD AND PROCEDURES <br /> M All work described herein was ' <br /> erformed in accordance with ATCs Wor lan to <br /> p kP Complete <br /> 1 Groundwater and Soil Investigation and to Implement a Feasibility Study, dated December 2, <br /> 1997, which was approved with minor modifications by PHS/EHD <br /> 1 2_1 Drillinp.Activities <br /> 1 On March 24 and 25, 1998, ATC personnel supervised advancement of seven soil bonngs, ASB 1, <br /> MW4, MW5, MW6, MW7, SB8, and SB9, at the site to depths ranging from approximately 26 5 <br /> to 62 feet bgs at the project site to 1) evaluate the horizontal and vertical extent of petroleum <br /> 1 hydrocarbon impacted soil and groundwater, 2) determine and define soil stratigraphy, and 3) <br /> install groundwater monitoring wells (MW4, MW 5, MW6, and MW7) within the uppermost <br /> 1 aquifer The boring/well locations are shown on Figure 2 <br /> 2.2 Soil Boring Advancement and Sampling <br /> 1 � 0904 utilizing hollow m <br /> Drilling was conducted by V & W Drilling (State C57 license no 72 ) uti izi g astem <br /> auger drill ng and a direct push drill rig One angle soil bonng, ASB 1, was advanced under the <br /> 1 on-site building at an angle of 30 degrees and to a depth of 36 feet bgs to define the extent of <br /> impacted soil under the building One soil boring, SB8, was advanced to a depth of 62 feet bgs to <br /> evaluate the vertical extent of impacted soil in the location of the former USTs The remaining <br /> w%25965repor \Muipsi doe 2 <br /> i <br />
