Dear Mr.Williger: Geraghty & Miller appreciates the opportunity to submit this scope of work to Boston Chicken, Inc. for soil and groundwater assessment activities at the subject property. We understand that a Phase'I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) was performed by Enviros, Inc. (report dated March 18, 1994) and an agency file review was completed by CRC Environmental Risk Management, Inc. (report dated March 21, 1994). Geraghty & Miller was provided with excerpts of these reports for the purpose of preparing this scope of work. The objective of the tasks described below is to.determine the magnitude of the effect that petroleum hydrocarbon releases from the surrounding service stations have had on the subject property. SCOPE OF WORK TASK 1: PREFIELD ACTIVITIES Geraghty & Miller will review the Phase 1 ESA reports prepared previously for the subject property and will compile the existing soil and groundwater data from the ARCO and Shell service stations to the north and east, respectively, of the subject property. If it appears that any modifications to this scope of work would be appropriate, Geraghty & Miller will contact Boston Chicken, Inc. to discuss recommendations and any scope changes. Geraghty & Miller will arrange for a subsurface utility locating company to clear each proposed-boring location of subsurface utilities and will schedule a State-licensed drilling contractor to accomplish the drilling, soil sampling, and groundwater sampling activities.
