Equilon plans to remove and replace the underground storage tanks (USTs)at the
site. The objective of this work plan is to determine the condition of soil surrounding the USTs,
dispensers, and associated piping and to pre-characterize excavated soil for immediate transportation
off site during UST replacement activities. Presented below are a site summary, our proposed scope
of work, and a schedule.
SITE SUMMARY
The site is an active service station located on the southeast corner of the intersection of Hutchins
Road and West Kettleman Lane in a commercial area of Lodi, California(Plates 1 and 2).
akland, CA In September 1989, Aegis Environmental (Aegis) drilled 15 soil borings in preparation for a
Sonoma, CA proposed tank replacement project. Total petroleum hydrocarbons calculated as gasoline (TPHg)
Portland, OR were detected in Boring B-8 at 1060 parts per million (ppm). All other borings were non-detect
Seattle, WA (ND) for petroleum hydrocarbons with the exception of trace amounts of toluene and xylenes in
Cambria Borings B-1, B-7, and B-9. The results of this investigation are documented in Aegis' October 16,
Environmental 1989 Pre-Tank Replacement Site Assessment Results Report.
Technology, Inc.
1144 65th Street
Suite 8
Oakland, CA 946o8
Tel (510)420-0700
Fax(510)420-9170
