Soil samples
for chemical analysis will be retained in the brass liners,i labeled, and capped with Teflon
streets and plastic end caps. The samples will then be sealed in zip-lock bags, placed on
ice, and transported to the laboratory accompanied by the appropriate chain-of-custody
documentation.
Soil Sampling for Stockpiled Soil
Sail samples will be collected by advancing 2-inch diameter brass sample Liners
approximately six inches to one foot into the soil stockpile. One discrete sample will be
collected per approximately 50 cubic yards of soil. Soil samples for chemical analysis will
be retained in the brass liners, labeled, and upped with Teflon sheets and plastic end caps.
The samples will then be sealed in zip-iock'bags, placed on ice, and transported to the
laboratory accompanied by the appropriate chain of-custody documentation.
Laboratory Aa2lysiis of Soil Samples
Analysis for TPH-g and TPH d will be poformed by modified EPA method 5015.
Analysis for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes, an&MtBE will be performed by EPA
Method 8020. Fuel oxygenates DIPS, EtBE, MtBE, TAME, and TBA will be analyzed
by EPA Method 8260. Lead analysis will be'perfonned bey EPA Method 6010.
i
J
