As we discussed, the soil
in the vicinity of the tank site north of the engineering building (T1) does not appear to ,
have been impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons However, the laboratory data confirmed
the field observations that soil beneath the tanks (T2, T3) east of the maintenance building
has been impacted
Kleinfelder recommends drilling additional borings to assess the vertical extent of the
petroleum hydrocarbons migration beneath tanks T2 and T3 If ground water is not
encountered during the drilling of this boring, and petroleum hydrocarbons are detected at
depth, Kleinfelder recommends a second boring be drilled, outside of the perceived area of
impact, to assess the local depth to ground water. Kleinfelder recommends no further
assessment of the soil in the vicinity of tank T1 '
Thank you for your consideration of Kleinfelder If you have any questions regarding this
report, please do not hesitate to call '
Sincerely,
KLEINFELDER, INC.
Dana W Both '
Project Geo g st
LV-171ndlay, R G
Senior Geologist '
DWB ESF mb
Enclosure
FR25-91-29 ,
Copyright 1991 Kleinfelder, Inc
KI I INI f LDE R ;077 f ti( C irc 1t <u r mi(ntu ( A '1iF; — 014.1 S(,O 1701
