KLEINFELDER PID readings in boring B-1, drilled Sunder tank T2, ranged from 90 ppmv to 170 ppmv and increased with depth. PID readings also increased with depth in boring B-2, drilled under tank T2, and ranged from 30 ppmv to 350 ppmv. PID readings for boring B-3, drilled to the , east of tank Tl, ranged from 0 ppmv to 25 ppmv There were no PID readings above 0 ppmv for boring B-4, drilled to the west of tank T1 Table 1, "Summary of Soil , Laboratory Data," presents the PID readings for the samples submitted for analysis A complete set of PID readings at 5-foot intervals is presented on the boring logs in Appendix B. 3 5 EQUIPMENT DECONTAMINATION To reduce the potential for cross-contamination, augers and associated equipment were , steam cleaned prior to drilling each boring In addition, sampling equipment was cleaned with a trisodium-phosphate wash and rinsed with distilled water prior to collecting each soil sample 3 6 SOIL DISPOSITION Drill cuttings were placed in 55-gallon drums, labeled with the boring number and drilling date, and left on site Soil from borings B-3 and B-4 (tank T1) did not contain petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations and the disposal of this soil should not be regulated The soil should be able to be disposed of on site or as the client desires Soil from borings B-1 and B-3 (tanks T2, T3) did contain petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations and will require treatment or disposal at an appropriate facility The client may want to retain the contained soil on site until the disposition of the tanks is further evaluated 3 7 BORING CLOSURE Upon completion of drilling and sampling, the soil borings were closed by backfilling with a cement/bentorute grout mixed by the drilling crew.
