KLEINFELDER
The slurry will be mixed at a ratio of 188 pounds sand with 94 pounds cement (Portland Type
I-II) to approximately 5-112 gallons potable water. The discharge end of the tremae will be no
more than 10 feet above the top of the gravel when pumping is begun, and shall remain
submerged in the cement throughout the destruction
Per a discussion with Mr. Dwayne Cox (City of Stockton, Waste Water Treatment Plant), the
water displaced during the destruction may be discharged to the sanitary sewer
Task 7 - Excavation Backfill
Upon completion of the well destruction, the excavation will be backfilled using the native soil
stockpiled in Task 3 above and pea gravel
Task 8 - Reporting
Upon completion of the well destruction, Kleinfelder will prepare a letter report documenting
the field activities, volumes of materials used, and placement procedures.
ASSUMPTIONS AND CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES
► Adequate work space is available to position the equipment
Estimates of material quantities have been made using assumptions about the diameter
. of the bore-hole If additional materials are required, additional costs will be incurred
► The cost estimate includes two water samples being collected coincident with the well
perforating and analyzed by the above methods. If the samples are required by
SJCEHD prior to the perforating or of additional samples or analyses are required,
additional costs will be incurred
► The cost estimate assumes that the displaced well water can be discharged without cost
immediately to sewer If SJCEHD requires analytical results prior to discharge or the
waste water treatment plant will not accept the discharge, additional costs will be
incurred.
LEffrATIONS
Klemfelder offers various levels of investigative and engineering services to suit the varying
needs of different clients. Although risk can never be eliminated, more detailed and extensive
investigations yield more information, which may help understand and manage the level of
risk Since detailed investigation and analysis involves greater expense, our clients participate
in determining levels of service which provide adequate information for their purposes at
acceptable levels of risk. Acceptance of this work plan will indicate that San Joaquin County
has reviewed the scope of work and determined that it does not need or want a greater level of
service than will be provided Any exceptions should be noted and may result in higher fees.
•
FWP-92-20 Page 3 of 4
Copynght 1992 Klemfelder, Inc
