CLOSURE SOLLNS, INC. [RECENED
LA
JUN 2 3 2008
LJune 17 2008 ENVIRONMENT HEALTH
PERMIT/SERVICES
LMr. Frank Girardi
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
600 E. Main Street
LStockton, California 95202
Re: WORK PLAN FOR TEMPORARY SOIL VAPOR PROBES
L
L Boyett Petroleum - Manteca
419 S. Main Street
Manteca, California
San Joaquin County LOP Case No. 1433
Central Valley RWQCB LUFT Case No.390972
LDear Mr. Girardi:
On behalf of Boyett Petroleum, Closure Solutions Inc. (Closure Solutions) has prepared this
L Work Plan for Temporary Soil Vapor Probes, (Work Plan) for the Manteca Site located at
419 S. Main Street, Manteca, California (the Site). This Work Plan is being submitted in
Lorder to assess the potential for soil vapor migration at the site. Constituents of concern at
the Site are very low to non-detectable. No further action (NFA or environmental site
Lclosure) status will be requested for the Site if the results of the proposed soil vapor
assessment are favorable.
1.0 BACKGROUND
LFollowing is a summary of the findings of previous investigations at the Site. A detailed site
history is included as Attachment A.
1.1 Site Geology and Hydrology
Previous Site investigations indicated that there is an upper soil horizon (surface to
Lapproximately 22 feet below ground surface [bgs]) dominated by relatively continuous, fine-
grained soil types with sandy interbedding and clay horizons. A clay to silty clay horizon of
Lvariable thickness was encountered from approximately 22 to 28 feet bgs and appears to be
continuous throughout the Site. A continuous, coarse sand horizon in the upper soil horizon
Lwas encountered at approximately 28 to 53 feet bgs. The shallow Site wells are screened in
the upper soil horizon and the deep Site wells are screened below the clay to silty clay
horizon. Depth to groundwater at the Site typically ranges between 13 and 26 feet bgs.
.L
1243 Oak Knoll Drive o Concord, CA 94521
(800) 988-7880
wir.ClosrzrzSolutiins.conl
