Site History
Boyett Petroleum(419 S.Main St.,Manteca)
On September 30, 2002, Condor representatives surveyed the locations and elevations of MW-1 through
MW-9. The well collars of the monitoring wells were surveyed relative to an established benchmark to
comply with California Assembly Bill 2886. The survey data were collected with a Trimble 5700
Centimeter-Level RTK Global Positioning System(GPS) and referenced to the North American Datum of
1983 (NAD83).
On November 20, 2002, Condor conducted a sensitive receptor survey (SRS) within a 2,000-foot radius
of the site to identify potential areas of groundwater recharge or discharge, schools, and potential water
well users that could be impacted by migration of groundwater from the site. The findings of the SRS
included:
Eighteen California Department of Water Resources (DWR) Central District well records
pertained to 23 wells that were verified to be within the study area.
During the area reconnaissance, Condor was unable to locate 20 of the 23 wells indicated by
DWR well records.
Of these 20 wells, 14 were classified as monitoring wells, four were classified as extraction wells,
one was listed as an irrigation well, and one was indicated as "other". According to a Pacific Gas
and Electric Company (PG&E) representative, PG&E is the owner of the well designated as
"other".
Of the three remaining wells, one well was destroyed (as documented by the DWR), and two
monitoring wells (indicated on a single well record)were identified.
A well record for a property located at 151 S. Main Street indicated that two monitoring wells
were installed in 1996. These wells are part of a group of monitor and extraction wells that were
not visible during Condor's area reconnaissance. The two monitoring wells are located
approximately 1,000 feet north of the site.
Four well locations not included in the information provided by the DWR were identified during
the area reconnaissance. These included:
A municipal well located at 323 (331) Jessie Avenue, approximately 1,500 feet west of
the site.
Nine monitoring wells located on-site at 419 S. Main Street, including the one located
across Wetmore Avenue.
Five monitoring wells located at 151 S. Main Street, approximately 1,000 feet north of
the site.
One drinking water well located at Manteca High School, approximately 1,800 feet
northeast of the site.
Two schools were identified within the study area:
Manteca High School located at 450 E. Yosemite Avenue, approximately 1,400 feet
northeast of the site.
Manteca Community Day School located at 680 Mikesell Avenue, approximately 1,600
feet east of the site.
('limp xiratar mall the P;tv of MnintPra AXIa11 >iS limo nl vP rPA a* '212 7PcciP AlIPn11P
approximately 1,500 feet west of the site.
