Third Quarter 2005 Groundwater Monitoring Report
Boyett Petroleum,419 S.Main,Manteca,CA
Page 4
Concentrations of MTBE in groundwater at the Site have decreased significantly during the last two
Years, as shown on the graph in Figure 5, attached. There has also been a corresponding reduction in the
estimated size of the MTBE plume during the same time period. The decrease in concentrations and the
reduction in the estimated size of the plume suggest that intrinsic bioremediation has been taking place
within the MTBE plume at the Site. The concentrations of dissolved oxygen are lower in the groundwater
purged from MW-9 and MW-11 than in the groundwater purged from the other wells at the Site, which
suggests that intrinsic bioremediation is continuing in the vicinity of MW-9 and MW-11.
Condor prepared the No Further Action Request (NFAR) dated October 7, 2005, The NFAR was
submitted to the SJCEHD and the CRWQCB for consideration.
Condor recommends the Site be considered for closure. The concentrations of MTBE in groundwater
samples collected from MW-2, MW-3, MW-4R, MW-6, MW-8, and MW-9 have been below the primary
MCL since the June 2004 monitoring event or earlier. The concentrations of MTBE are below the
primary MCL for all the groundwater samples collected from the Site monitoring wells on September 30,
2005.
LIMITATIONS
This report was prepared under the direct supervision of a Professional Geologist in the State of
California. The standard of care for all services performed or furnished by Condor is commensurate with
the care and skill ordinarily used by a member of the environmental profession practicing under similar
conditions at the same time in the same Iocality.
