' Boyett Petroleum October 23, 2002
419 Main Street, Manteca, CA
Quarterly Groundwater Sampling Report
September, 2002
Summary of Analytical Findings
This quarter, detectable contamination levels were identified in the monitoring wells
listed below:
Well TPH- B T E X MTBE ETH BTA DIPE ETBE TAME EDB 1,2-
Gas* DCA
MW-1 ND ND ND ND ND 1,370 NA NA NA NA NA NA NA
MW-2 ND ND ND ND ND 640 NA NA NA NA NA NA NA
MW-3 ND ND ND NDND ND NA NA NA NA NA NA NA
MW-5+ -- -- --
MW-6+ -- -- -- -- --
' MW-7 ND ND ND ND ND 14,200 NA NA NA NA NA NA NA
MW-8 ND ND ND ND ND ND NA NA NA NA NA NA NA
MW-9 ND ND ND ND 0.9 ND NA NA NA NA NA NA NA
' BTEX—Benzene,Toluene, Ethyl Benzene,Xylenes
MTBE—Methyl Tert-Butyl Ether
ETH—Ethanol
BTA—Tert-Butanol
10 DIPE—Di-Isopropyl Ether
ETBE—Ethyl Tert-Butyl Ether
' TAME—Tert-Amyl Methyl Ether
EDB—Ethylene Dibromide
1,2-DCA— 1,2-Dichloroethane
ND-"None detected"at or above reporting limit
*Reported in mg/L. All other analytes reported in ug/L
+Insufficient water to sample
1 MW-1 contained 1,370 ug/L of MTBE, an significant decrease from last quarter's
sampling event, in June, 2001, in which MW-1 had a concentration of 13,000 ug(L. MW-
2, showed an increase in MTBE since last quarter. MW-3 was "ND" for all constituents.
' MW-4, MW-5, and MW-6 were unable to be sampled due to insufficient water in the
well. MW-7 had a significant decrease in the concentration of MTBE from 26,500 to
14,200 ug/L. MW-8 was ND for all analytes tested. MW-9 showed decreases in all
chemicals. Past analytical data are listed in Table 2 for comparison. Appendix A
contains the laboratory analytical data and Chain of Custody report.
' The monitoring wells will be measured, purged and sampled again next quarter, and a
new gradient calculated.
' As discussed in a site meeting on April 25, 2001, it would appear that interim mitigation
in the form of soil gas vapor extraction, etc. may be advisable. A meeting should be
' scheduled to discuss the options.
' 2
