Bay ett Petroleum May 1, 2000
419 Main Street, Manteca, CA
Groundwater Sampling Report- March, 2000
Summary of Analytical Findings
This quarter, detectable contamination levels was identified in the monitoring wells listed
below:
1Anallyte MW-1 MW-2 MW-3 MW-4
Gasoline` 0A9. 0:24 ND ND
Benzene 518 2 5 . ND
Toluene 23 87 Z!9 ND
Ethyl Benzene ::14'. 12 40 ND
' Total Xylenes 1 .2.5'. 9:2; ND
MTBE 11;600:, . .1.2. .743 ND
tert-Butanol :1;130;':' . . NIA NIA NIA
' TAME 58 . NIA NIA NIA
ND -"None detected" at or above Reporting Limit
' * Reported in mg/L. All other analytes reported in ug/L.
MW-I contained the highest level of MTBE, therefore EPA method 8260 was used to
• analyze that water sample for the presence of the other oxygenates. Since the last quarter
monitoring event in December, 1999, the concentration of MTBE has increased in MW-I
and showed a slight increase from ND to 1.2 ug/L in MW-2. The concentration of MTBE
in MW-3 and MW-4 has decreased. All contaminates except MTBE and Benzene are
below the State of California maximum contaminate limits for broundtix:iter. Past
analytical data are listed in Table 2 for comparison. Appendix A contains the laboratory
' analytical data and Chain of Custody report.
The monitoring wells will be measured, purged and sampled again next quarter, and a
new gradient calculated.
On April 20, 2000, WHI.~ submitted a Work Plan for the Lateral Extent of
' Groundwater Contamination to San Joaquin County Public Health Services,
Environmental Health Division. Once WHF receives an approval letter for the work
' plan a Bid Package will be prepared and sent to Boyett Petroleum, Inc. for distribution.
' 2
