�4 Boyett Petroleum 419 Soutli Main Street ' Manteca, California Work Plan Lateral Extent of Groundwater Contamination 1.0 Project Identification This project has been developed to explore the lateral migration of the groundwater contamination plume at the Boyett Petroleum fueling facility located at 419 South Main Street, Manteca, California. The results of this investigation will be used to define the groundwater contamination plume and to determine an effective mitigation strategy. 1 2.0 Site Description and History ' SC&D Boyett Petroleum is located in Manteca (Figure 1). The property is identified as Parcel 23 in Book 9, on Map 2 of the Baccilieri Park Addition. The Assessor Parcel Number (APN) is 219-38-23 in San Joaquin County. The subject parcel has a physical address known as 419 South Main Street, Manteca, CA (Figure 2). On November 20, 1996 VWHF, Inc., under the direction of Mr. Robert McClellon of San Joaquin County Environmental Health, did collect one (1) soil sample from beneath each of the three (3) existing dispensers at approximately 24 inches underlying the dispenser piping. ' Samples were collected employing the use of a hand driven sampler with brass sleeves. After sample collection the sleeve was sealed, labeled, logged on a Chain of Custody and collected in an ice chest on Blue Ice& to await transport to a certified laboratory. On November 21, 1996 V41F, Inc. under the direction of Mr. Robert McClellon of San Joaquin County Environmental Health, did collect four (4) discrete soil samples in brass sleeves to characterize the stockpiled soils from the demolition and retrofit activities conducted at this site. The four (4) sleeves collected were composited into two (2) soil ' samples for analysis at the laboratory. Those two (2) samples are representative of the approximately 44 cubic yard of material stockpiled. All samples collected during this event were sealed, labeled, logged on a Chain of Custody and cooled in a ice chest with Blue Ice® to await transportation to the certified laboratory. _ The soil samples submitted for analysis from both the stockpiled soils and the dispenser locations were analyzed for gasoline by EPA method M 8015, BTX&E along with MTBE were analyzed by EPA method 8020.
