Harza proposes to drill 10 soil
borings to help define the extent of metal and petroleum soil contamination, and extend one of the
borings down to ground water to get a water sample.
In my discussion of the scope of work with Mr. Dennis Laduzinsky of Harza, we agreed that the ground
water sample to be taken from boring HB8 would be analyzed for lead in addition to petroleum
hydrocarbon constituents. Mr. Laduzinsky also agreed to take a better look at the potential need to
analyze soil samples from borings HBI though HB5 for metals, and samples from borings HB8 through
HB 10 for petroleum constituents. He was of the opinion that previous soil sampling had defined the
extent of these contaminants in these particular areas of the site.
The work plan is hereby approved on condition that the above issues are addressed. By 22 November
1995 please submit a report which documents the results of the investigation and includes your
recommendations for further investigation or remediation.
If you have any questions, you may call me at(916) 255-3077.
JOE M.
