A Retum to Compliance Certification was previously submitted and this will serve <br /> as clarification for any discrepancies in the prior submittal. Included in this response are <br /> corrective actions taken by SUSD to address the findings. <br /> FINDING #108 — FA LURE TO CHARACTERIZE WASTE (SANDLBASTER AND PARTS WASHER <br /> WASTE): SUSD has eveloped waste profiles with Clean Harbors for the disposal of sandblaster <br /> waste(metal fines) and parts washer waste. Oily rags will no longer be laundered at the campus, <br /> and all oily rags at tcampus were placed in the oily debris drum and disposed of on May 6th, <br /> 2014 along with the etal fines(see finding#701). .9Ke 661.V6 ec',O q <br /> FINDING #122 & 12 — RECYCLE RECORDS FOR USED OIL NOT AVAILABLE: The auto shop <br /> instructor is responsi Dle for maintaining records for used oil and was unable to locate records. <br /> These records are currently unavailable, but SUSD is instituting Standard Operating Procedures <br /> (SOPS) for managing waste and associated paperwork at the campus. <br /> FINDING #127— REC CLE RECORDS FOR LEAD ACID BATTERIES NOT AVAILABLE: Fewer than <br /> 10 spent lead acid a itomotive batteries are generated per year at the campus. Batteries are <br /> received and recycled by Battery Bill Inc. located at 2817 Cherryland Avenue, Stockton, <br /> CA 95215. The carpus manages batteries in accordance with Title 22 California Code of <br /> Regulations (CCR) § 66266.81. Since fewer than 10 batteries are generated at the campus per <br /> Title 22 CCR § 66265.81(a) recycle records are not required to be maintained on-site, following <br /> is the regulatory citat on: <br /> Title 22 CCR§ 6626$.81 <br /> (a) Except as vroviEkd in subsection (a)(1) of this section, a person who manages spent lead- <br /> acid storage batteries which are equivalent in type and equivalent to, or smaller in size than, <br /> spent lead-acid storage batteries removed from motor vehicles as defined in Vehicle Code <br /> sections 415 and 670 shall comply with the applicable requirements of subsections(a)(2)through <br /> (d)of this section. <br />
