This r sponse will serve as the Return to Compliance Certification. Included in <br /> this response are con: ctive actions taken by SUSD to address the findings. <br /> FINDING#108—FAIL TO CHARACTERIZE WASTE(BRAKE GRINDINGS& OILY RAGS): SUSD <br /> has developed waste rofiles with Clean Harbors for the disposal of metal fines and oily debris. <br /> The oily rags were pl ced in the oily debris drum and disposed of on May 6t', 2014 along with <br /> the metal fines (see fi ding#701). <br /> FINDING #122 & 12 — RECYCLE RECORDS FOR USED OIL NOT AVAILABLE: The auto shop <br /> instructor is responsi e for maintaining records for used oil and was unable to locate records. <br /> These records are cu ently unavailable, but SUSD is instituting Standard Operating Procedures <br /> (SOPS) for managing aste and associated paperwork at the campus. <br /> FINDING#127—RE CLE RECORDS FOR LEAD ACID BATTERIES NOT AVAILABLE: Fewer than <br /> 10 spent lead acid a omotive batteries are generated per year at the campus. Batteries are <br /> received and recycled by Battery Bill Inc. located at 2817 Cherryland Avenue, Stockton, CA <br /> 95215. The campu manages batteries in accordance with Title 22 California Code of <br /> Regulations (CCR) § 6266.81. Since fewer than 10 batteries are generated at the campus per <br /> Title 22 CCR § 66266 81(a) recycle records are not required to be maintained on-site, following <br /> is the regulatory citati n: <br /> Title 22 CCR § 66266.81 <br /> (a) Ezce t as Drovided in subsection (a)(1) of this section a person who manages spent lead- <br /> acid storage batteries hich are equivalent in type and equivalent to, or smaller in size than, <br /> spent lead-acid stora a batteries removed from motor vehicles as defined in Vehicle Code <br /> sections 415 and 670 s all comply with the applicable requirements of subsections (a)(2)through <br /> (d) of this section. <br /> (1) A person ( .g., automobile owner, service station operator, retail store operator) who <br /> generates in on year, stores at one time, or transports at one time in one vehicle ten or <br /> fewer spent le d-acid storage batteries which either have been removed from motor <br />
