Elm Street
Lodi , CA 95240
RE: MS-87-44
Dear Terry:
This is in response to your letter of April 24, 1987 regarding MS-87-44.
The proposed division of land is in a high water table area and therefore seepage
pits cannot be used as a method of sewage disposal or as a condition on the final
map. Leach lines must be at least 5 feet above the water table. Seepage pits
must be at least 10 feet above the water tabel . The water table is reported to
be about 10 feet.
It is apparent that there are several alternatives:
1. Disapprove the minor subdivision.
2. Conduct additional percolation test to find a site
which will perc at 60 minutes per inch or less.
3. Provide an engineered alternative septic systems design
for evaluation.
If you have any questions regarding this matter, contact Al Olsen, Supervising Sanitarian,
of my staff at (209) 466-6781 , extension 50.
Joai Khanna, M.D. , M.P.H.
District Health Officer
Ron L.
