We look forward to the opportunity to serve
you.
BACKGROUND
Mr. Travis Price of Balfour Beatty Infrastructure, Inc., contacted Kleinfelder to provide
this proposal to properly abandon seven piezometers in accordance with Sacramento
and San Joaquin County Well Standards. Three of the piezometers (MP-6, 10, and 11)
are located in Sacramento County at the Clay Station Pumping Plant Site. Four of the
piezometers are located in San Joaquin County, three (LH-3, 6, and 9) of which are
located at the Comanche Site and one (MQ-7A) which is located at the Pipeline No.2
Flow Splitting Facility Site. The borings for the piezometers range in depth from
approximately 26 to 60 feet below the ground surface (bgs). We understand that the
piezometers were installed as part of a geotechnical investigation of the structural
facilities associated with the Folsom South Canal Connection operated by the EBMUD.
The following table details the construction of the piezometers and is based upon the
Plates, provided by the client and originally included in a Piezometer Installation Report.
According to the piezometer construction plates and information obtained from the
EBMUD Materials Engineering Section, with the exception of MP-11 and a portion of
MP-10, the piezometers were installed in eight-inch diameter borings. Piezometers MP-
11 and MP-10 (from 35 to 60 feet bgs) were installed in five-inch diameter borings .
02001 PROP.ENV/ST07P230/FB:ly Page 1 of 5
©2007 Kleinfelder September 11, 2007
