A large trailer was observed being <br /> painted outside. <br /> (d) Fumigation Chamber. Methyl bromide is used approximately once per <br /> month to fumigate pallets and other shipping materials. It is released <br /> directly into the atmosphere from the fumigation chamber at a concentration <br /> of about 17,000 ppm. <br /> (e) Sandblast Area. In the eastern part of the Depot is an area used <br /> for sandblasting and outside painting. <br /> (f) Gasoline Station. The existing gasoline station had no <br /> hydrocarbon emission controls. <br /> (g) Carpenter Shops. All carpenter shops have exhaust systems with <br /> control devices removing dust emitted from woodworking equipment. <br /> (h) Motor Vehicle Maintenance. Small amounts of solvent are used for <br /> parts-cleaning in the automotive shops. <br /> (i ) Boilers. All boilers are natural gas and/or liquid petroleum gas <br /> i <br /> fired. <br /> (j) Solid Waste. Refuse and other solid wastes are disposed of at a <br /> landfill with no burning on the installation. Classified material is taken <br /> to the incinerator at the Sharpe Army Depot. <br /> 4.5.2 The USAEHA study provided the following assessment of the ambient <br /> air quality in the Depot area. According to the EPA, the San Joaquin <br /> Valley Air Quality Control Region (AQCR) was in 1980 in nonattainment <br /> status for total suspended particulates (TSP) , carbon monoxide, and <br /> 4-194 <br />
