The San Joaquin County assessor's parcel f <br /> number for the site is 062-02-02' (figure 1) . The purfose of the site <br /> assessment wrs to assess subsurface conditions priorlIto a planned tank <br /> closure/replacement at the proposed location of 'I�new underground <br /> storage tanks and the existing tank basin. Briefly the scope of Aegis' <br /> services included the following: <br /> 1) Drilling and sampling five soil borings at ,the existing <br /> underground storage basin and associated plumbing system at <br /> the locations identified in figure 2, 'iaccording t the <br /> methods outlined in Appendix A. <br /> 2) Drilling and sampling eight soil borings at the proposed <br /> underground tank location, at the locations shown in figure <br /> - 2, according to the methods described ,in Appendix A. <br /> 3) Drilling and sampling two soil borings at the western fuel <br /> �.� island, at the locations identified iri` figure 2, according <br /> to the methods outlined in Appendix A.I <br /> w 4) Recovering soil samples from each of the soil borings at <br /> five foot vertical spacings. j <br /> S) bogging each of the soil samples in accordance with the <br /> Unified Soil Classification System. <br /> 6) Screening each of the recovered samplea forjthe presence of <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons with a photoiortiization detector <br /> (PID) , according to the methods described in Appendix A. <br /> 7 <br /> ) submitting a total of ®levan soil samp lea to a state <br /> certified laboratory to be analyzed for petiroleum <br /> hydrocarbons, according to the methods', outlined in Appendix <br /> A. i <br /> 8) Submittingselected soil nam les from the proposed now P P, P n tank i <br /> location to a soils engineering for a qualitative assessment <br /> of slope stability at the proposed tank locution. <br /> 9) Preparing this report and presenting the re�'ults of <br /> Aegis' site assessment, with conclusions and recommendations <br /> for mitigation during the planned tankllclo#iure/replacement. <br />
