Each measurement was made from the top of the well casing
with a Seattle Slope Indicator and referenced to sea level. Groundwater gradient and flow
direction for the subject site were established based upon the groundwater elevations
derived from the field measurements. The groundwater flow direction occurs in a
ndwater table contour maps
south/southeasterly direction as shown on the grou
(Figures 3, 4 and 5). Figure 6 is a hydrograph depicting elevation changes in
groundwater from January through April 1991. The groundwater gradient was measured
at an average of o.0018 feet/foot. Refer to Aegis' Standard Operating Procedure
Number 12 (SOP-12), in Appendix B, for protocol relating to field measurements.
° 3.2 Groundwater Sam le Collectlnn and Laboratory Anal sis
Groundwater samples were collected on April 22, 1991. The three monitoring wells were
d according to the Aegis'SOP-7 included in the
purged and groundwater samples coAecte
appendices. The field data sheets are included in Appendix C. The water samples from
each well were collected in 40-m1 VCA vials and ane-liter glass-amber bottles. The
samples were immediately placed on ice in a cooler and delivered under chain-of-custody
to Coast-to-Coast Analytical Services (CCAS) in San Luis Obispo, California.
The water samples for MW-1, 2, and 3 were analyzed for fuel fingerprint which benzene,
a) total purgeable petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPPH-G); )
ethylbenzene, toluene, and total xylenes (BTEX); c) 1,2-Dibromoethane (EDB); d) 1,2-
Dichloruethane (EDC); and e)total lead. The laboratory analyses is as follows: the Fuel
Fingerprint Analysis by extraction with EPA Method 5030 (purge g and trap) and analyzed
by CAL DHS DRAFT TPH (modified) and I=PA Method 8260 (GC/MS)for constituents a)
PA Method 7421. Laboratory results are
through d) listed above and total lead by
f attachments a d the reports and chain-of-custody forms are
summarized in Table 2 0
located in Appendix A.
Furthermore, a groundwater sample from MW-2 was analyzed for Total and Fecal
Coliform. This sample was collected on April 22, 1991 and Hent under chain-of-custody
_ to Eureka Laboratories, Inc. in Sacramento, California to perform the analysis by the
k Colilert Method. Associated test results are presented in Table 2.
