en virosa <br /> September 30, 1996 <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> Environmental Health Division <br /> Site Mitigation Unit <br /> Ann Ms Margaret Lagono <br /> P O Box 388 <br /> Stockton, California 95201 <br /> RE- Tank Removal and Over-excavation Work Plan <br /> Shell Service Station <br /> 420 W Kettleman Lane <br /> Lodi, California <br /> WIC 204-4416-0202 <br /> Dear Ms Lagorto <br /> Enviros, Inc (Enviros) has prepared this Work Plan describing activities to be performed <br /> during the removal and replacement of underground storage tanks (USTs) at the above <br /> referenced location (Plates 1 and 2) Environmental work will be performed to comply <br /> with appropriate Regional Water Quality Control Board and San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Division (SJCEHD) guidelines <br /> .1 <br /> Site Description <br /> The site is an active retail gasoline service station located on the southeast corner of <br /> Kettleman Lane and Hutchins Road in a commercial area of Lodi (Plates 1 and 2) The <br /> existing facilities include a station building with car wash facility,five dispenser islands, <br /> and three underground storage tanks <br /> Background <br /> In September 1989, Aegis Environmental (Aegis) drilled 15 soil borings in preparation for <br /> a proposed tank replacement project These boring locations are presented on Figure 2 <br /> (prepared by Aegis) Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons calculated as Gasoline (TPH-G) was <br /> detected in Boring B-8 at a concentration of 1060 parts per million (ppm) All other <br /> borings were non-detect (ND) for petroleum hydrocarbons with the exception of trace <br /> levels of toluene and xylenes in Boring B-1, B-7, and B-9 The results of this <br /> investigation are documented in Aegis' October 16, 1989 "Pre-Tank Replacement Site <br /> Assessment Results Report " <br /> In October 1990, Aegis installed Wells MW-1, MW-2, and MW-3 Soil and ground water <br /> samples collected from these well borings were ND for TPH and BTEX The results of <br /> this investigation are documented in Aegis' March 26, 1991 "Site Assessment/Monitoring <br /> Well Installation Results Report " <br /> In August 1995, Fugro drilled Boring B-17 and installed Well MW-4 TPH-G and BTEX <br /> were ND to soil samples collected from these borings <br /> Envlrva, Inc 270 Perkins Street Sonoma California Tel 707/935 4650 <br /> P 0 Box 259 95476 0259 Fax 7071935 6649 <br />
