In the March 26, 1991 report it stated, 'groundwater appears to flow southwesterly to
southeasterly." In the April 30, 1991 report is states the gradient is southeast. Monitoring well 43 is
southwest of both the existing underground tank location and the proposed new underground tauk location.
There is no monitoring well to the southeast of thCalj2 a, A monitoring well should be installed
southeast of these locations since contamination was found in the soil borings dulled in these two areas.
Submit a work plan for the installation of this monitoring well by July 23, 1991.
Fecal coliform was reported in monitoring well #2 at greater than 16mpl/100m1 (most probable number).
This well shoWd be tested for fecal coliform again during the nem quarterly sonvIing.
Upon review of previous reports there is additional information that should be included in your Next
quarterly report Disposal of the soil generated from drilling borings B1 -B16has not been documented.
In the report dated March 26, 1991, you state that the sod generated from installation of the monitoring
wells was taken to a landfill in Richmond. Provide receipts to verify the soil was disposed of at this landfill.
In the"Pre-Tank Replacement:Site Assessment Results Report'dated October 15, 1989,Aegis Environtnental
recommended removing contaminated soils from the proposed underground tank location and sampling the
soil to confi the exeavauon was "clean" prior to installing the new tanks.' We agree with This
recommendation and anticipate it being incorporated into the future plans for this site.
If you have any questions contact Margaret Lagorio, Senior REHS, of my staff at (209)468.3449.
Jogi Khanna,M.D., M.P.K
Health Offic
v
une A.
