CAMBRIA
HYDROCARBON DISTRIBUTION IN GROUNDWATER
TPI-Ig and benzene were not detected in grab groundwater samples collected from any of the
borings MTBE was detected (by EPA Method 8260B) in samples collected from boring SB-2
at a concentration of 16 3 parts per billion (ppb) No other fuel oxygenates were detected in
groundwater samples Grab groundwater sample chemical analytical data are summarized in
Table 3 and presented on Figure 2 Laboratory analytical data are Appendix D
Groundwater samples collected from well MW-5 on March 9, 2000 did not contain detectable
concentrations of TPHg and BTEX MTBE was detected (by EPA Method 8260A) in well
MW-5 at a concentration of 10 3 ppb No other fuel oxygenates were detected
Groundwater chemical analytical data from well MW-5 are summarized in the Well
Concentrations table in Blaine's report (Appendix C) and in Table 4 These data are also
presented on Figure 3 The laboratory analytical report is also presented in Blaine's report
(Appendix C)
FILE REVIEW
•
Cambria collected well construction information for the municipal well located southwest of,
and adjacent to, the subject site and information regarding the ongoing cleanup at the former
Chevron site located at 301 West Kettleman Lane, Lodi
Municipal Well The well is referred to as The City of Lodi Well No 12 and its address is
listed as 1412 South Hutchins Street It was installed in 1962 and was drilled to a total depth
of 510 fbg The screened interval of this well is from 210 fbg to 500 fbg A second source of
information regarding this well indicates the total depth is 500 fbg and the bottom of the
screen is at 490 fbg The top of the screened interval is 210 fbg according to both sources
Well No 12 has a sanitary seal of grout, which extends from the ground surface to 108 fbg
During 1997 and 1998 the annual production from this well was approximately 126 million
gallons of water Prior to 1997 the annual production ranged from approximately 24 to 94
million gallons The well was off line (not used) between 1987 and 1992 Water from the
well has been periodically tested for MTBE MTBE has not been detected in the well
according to the City of Lodi records through February 1999 Information we obtained
regarding this well is included in Appendix E of this report
The well log for Well No 12 indicates there are two significant clay layers (>_20 feet thick)
. between the depth which shallow groundwater occurs and the bottom of Well No 12's grout
seal Additionally, there are a total of four clay layers ranging in thickness from 9 to 76 feet
1346 5
