i r <br /> *CAM B R I A <br /> ANTICIPATED FOURTH QUARTER 2001 ACTIVITIES <br /> Due to the MTBE detection in well MW-8 this quarter, Equtva has decided to implement <br /> monthly sampling at the subject site The first monthly sample event will be conducted <br /> on October 17, 2001 Cambria has requested that the laboratory analyses be expedited <br /> and results are due October 22, 2001 When Cambria receives these results, we will <br /> forward a copy to SJCPHS/EHD <br /> As noted above, Blaine will sample the site on a monthly basis Blaine will continue to <br /> coordinate the quarterly sampling event with the former Chevron station located at 301 West <br /> Kettleman Lane according to the existing sampling schedule They will gauge and sample all <br /> site wells and tabulate the data There will be a slight change in the groundwater analyses, which <br /> is discussed below Cambria will prepare one groundwater monitoring report per quarter <br /> according to the existing reporting schedule <br /> Cambria will install the proposed soil vapor extraction (SVE) wells on <br /> . November 16, 2001 We have scheduled a five-day SVE pilot test for November 26 through <br /> 30, 2001 We will notify SJCPHS/EHD should this schedule change <br /> CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> Because neither has been detected in site wells for two consecutive quarters, Cambria <br /> recommends discontlnuing methanol and ethanol analyses, with verbal pernussion from Harlin <br /> Knoll of the SJCPHS/EHD during a July 19, 2001 telephone conversation Blaine will sample <br /> the site monthly beginning in October 2001 and will analyze the three site wells, an equipment <br /> blank, and a trip blank for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline, benzene, toluene, <br /> ethylbenzene, xylenes, and MTBE <br /> • <br /> 1346 2 <br />
