C A M B R I A
detected in the deep groundwater sample These activities are summarized in Cambria's June 25,2001
Site Investigation Report
2001 Well Installation and Soil Vapor Extraction (SVE) Test. During November 2001, Cambria
installed vapor extraction wells VE-1 and VE-2, located near well MW-5 and boring SB-6, and
conducted a 5-day SVE test using these wells Cambria estimates that approximately 13 6 pounds of
TPHg and 5 0 pounds of MTBE were removed over the duration of the SVE test During December
2001,Cambria installed a third vapor extraction well(VE-3),located adjacent to well MW-5,which
also served as a confirmation boring MTBE was not detected in soil samples from VE-3,compared
to MTBE concentrations up to 25 4 ppm in well boring MW-5 These activities are documented in
Cambna's May 17, 2002 Site Investigation and Soil Vapor Extraction Test Report
Groundwater Monitoring Program• There are two groundwater monitoring wells onsite(MW-5 and
MW-8) and one offsite well in the bicycle lane of West Kettleman Lane(MW-6) These wells are
currently sampled quarterly Dunng the third quarter 2002 sampling event, no TPHg, BTEX, or
MTBE were detected in the wells
. Soil analytical data and sample locations from the investigations described above are included in
Attachment B Groundwater analytical results and the third quarter 2002 groundwater elevation
contour map are included in Attachment C
SITE CONDITIONS
Ldhology Native sediments underlying the site consist of predominantly silt(ML), silty sand(SM),
and sand(SP)to a maximum depth explored of 100 fbg Boring logs are included in Attachment D
and a geologic cross section is presented in Attachment E
Hydrogeology: Depth to groundwater beneath the site has ranged from 54 to 60 fbg Typically the
groundwater flow direction beneath the site is towards MW-8 Regional groundwater flow varies
Groundwater depth and elevation data and the most recent groundwater contour map are mcluded in
Attachment C
Hydrocarbon Distribution in Soil Soil analytical results from investigations including, and
subsequent to,the tank removal activities during January 1999 demonstrate that the residual petroleum
hydrocarbons and MTBE in soil are limited to the northwestern dispenser area TPHg and BTEX are
fully delineated around this dispenser by borings SB-1,SB-2(MW-5),and SB-6 through SB-9 Prior
1346 3
