I C
,. 2.0 SCOPE OF WORK
Based on the results of soil sampling beneath the former
p 9 UST and remote fill, the soil beneath
ithe site is known to be impacted b
1 p y petroleum hydrocarbons. At this time, extent of impacted
soil is not defined. As such, the objectives of this environmental site investigation are as follows:
1. Define the vertical extent of impacted soil;
2. Determine if groundwater has been impacted;
3. Evaluate the nature and concentration of any fuel oxygenate compounds in soil
is and groundwater.
• ` To achieve the project objectives, a scope of work consisting of the following three tasks is
proposed:
i
1. Planning and Permitting
2. Push-Point Soil and Groundwater Grab Sampling and Analysis
4 3. Site Investigation Report
A discussion of these tasks and component subtasks follows.
2.1 Planning and Permitting
The planning and permitting task consists of a preliminary site inspection and the acquisition of
i
i the required permits.
2.1.1 Preliminary Site Inspection
J!
I A preliminary site inspection will be performed to gather the information necessary to carry out
i
the fieldwork and prepare the site background section of the Site Investigation Report. The
execution of this task will include the following:
• Contact facility personnel to coordinate an on-site inspection and interview;
Visit site to review on-site records, determine work constraints, sketch scaled site
plan and mark drilling locations for underground utility clearance.
3
d
