Hutchins Street (Site) , Lodi,
California. The soil gas investigation is referred
hereby as active soil gas sampling.
The purposes of the active soil gas sampling are
three folds :
(a) Determine the horizontal and vertical extent of
the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) found in
soil and groundwater;
(b) Determine if further remediation of the Site using
vapor extraction system is necessary; and
(c) Determine if the Site is the sole source for the
VOCs detected at the Site .
To achieve the above specified purposes, DTSC
requires that the active soil gas sampling be conducted
by a qualified soil gas contractor equipped with a
mobile laboratory. Prior to the sampling, DTSC
requires that a workplan be submitted for DTSC' s review
and approval . The workplan should include a minimum of
the following information:
(1) The objectives of the active soil gas sampling;
(2) The description of the site;
(3) The locations and depth of the sampling, and a map
depicting the sampling locations;
(4) Sampling equipment, methods, procedures, and/or
equipment decontamination procedures;
h
Li
