' Project No 58080-06-OIC
August 31, 1994
' SECTION THREE SUMMARY OF FIELD ACTIVITIES
EXISTING MONITORING WELL SAMPLING
' Groundwater Elevation Measurements
A representative of Geocon measured the groundwater elevations and checked for the
presence of free product within the existing monitoring wells (MW-1, MW-2 and MW-3) on
' July 1 and 27, 1994 Product layer thicknesses were not observed The top of well casing
elevations were measured with a liquid level manometer relative to an arbitrary datum of 100
' feet at the top of the well head cover for MW-1
Groundwater was generally encountered at depths between 55 and 57 feet bgs with a
calculated hydraulic gradient of 002 directed to the southwest A summary of the
groundwater elevation measurements are presented on Table III A site plan depicting the
relative groundwater elevation contours and groundwater gradient direction is presented as
' Figure 4
Well Purging and Sampling
' Groundwater samples were obtained from monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2 and MW-3 on July
1, 1994 The wells were temporarily identified by Geocon personnel as MW-A, MW-B and
' MW-C, respectively, on the field and laboratory reports due to the lack of previous well
' location and identification information Approximately 7 to 8 gallons of water was purged
+ - 22 -
