Protect No 58080-06-OIC <br /> August 31, 1994 <br />' BORING EXCAVATIONS <br /> Rationale for Boring Locations <br />' The results of the soil vapor survey were generally inconclusive due to the relatively low soil <br /> vapor flow rates encountered below a depth of approximately 20 feet bgs The rationale for <br /> the siting of the borings was to obtain additional information regarding the onsite lateral and <br /> ' vertical extent of the reported petroleum hydrocarbon soil impacts, and in particular, the <br /> presence of soil impacts along the easterly portion of the onsite parking lot <br /> Onsite Boring Excavations <br /> A health and safety meeting was conducted on July 13, 1994 by a Geocon representative at <br /> �r the site with personnel from West Hazmat Drilling Corporation prior to the commencement <br /> ' of the drilling activities <br /> ' Five continuous core sample borings (GB-1 through GB-5) were advanced at the site on July <br /> 13 and 14, 1994 with a truck-mounted CME 75 drill rig equipped with 8-inch-diameter hollow <br /> stem augers The borings were excavated to depths between 50 and 55 feet bgs The <br /> ' approximate locations of the exploratory borings are depicted on the Site Plan, Figure 2 <br /> 1 <br /> r <br /> - 25 - <br /> t <br />
