The <br /> soil had a distinct fuel odor at the point where the pipes were connected to the tank. A <br /> soil sample was taken approximately 7 ft. below the surface, under the pipe end, and <br /> analyzed for Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons, (TPH), by Roy F. Weston's laboratory. <br /> The sample was found to contain 7.2 mg/kg TPH (see Appendix B). After removal, the <br /> tank was examined and did not show any outward signs of leakage. <br /> The excavated soil was spread on the blacktopped yard surface and turned frequently to <br /> complete the aeration process.
