The
soil had a distinct fuel odor at the point where the pipes were connected to the tank. A
soil sample was taken approximately 7 ft. below the surface, under the pipe end, and
analyzed for Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons, (TPH), by Roy F. Weston's laboratory.
The sample was found to contain 7.2 mg/kg TPH (see Appendix B). After removal, the
tank was examined and did not show any outward signs of leakage.
The excavated soil was spread on the blacktopped yard surface and turned frequently to
complete the aeration process. Since no further excavation was needed, and after the
aeration was completed, the hole was backfilled with the dirtand the tank was disposed
of by Triangle, Inc., of Sacramento (see Appendix B).
p
a
It
E0 3E)Vd ©1N3WVdOVS NdZVHA ZZZZV9S9T6 6Z:ST 866T/L0/10
