Seven of
the eight groundwater samples were analyzed for EDB and results were non-detect for EDB.
Therefore, EHD agrees to the removal of EDB from the analytical list for groundwater analysis.
However, EHD directs you to analyze groundwater samples collected from each proposed borehole
for 1,2-DCA. This decision is based on the positive result of 2.6 micrograms per liter(µg/L) found
in groundwater sample MW-2 collected on December 21, 1999, and the iaiowledge that five of the
eight groundwater samples have detection limits for 1,2-DCA at 5 µg/L, well above the drinking
water maximum contaminant level of 0.5 µg/L adopted by the California Department of Health
Services.
Should you have any questions or concerns regarding this letter, please contact Vicki McCartney,
REHS, by mail (address on letter head), by telephone at (209) 468-3456, or by e-mail at
r
vmccartney@sjcehd.com.
Donna Heran, REHS,Director
Environmental Health Department i
Vicki McCartney, REHS Nuel C.
