(Krazan) has prepared this Workplan <br /> letter for additional subsurface investigation at the above-referenced site. The purpose of the additional <br /> subsurface investigation will be to further characterize the horizontal and vertical extent of petroleum <br /> hydrocarbon impact to soils in the area of a former gasoline underground storage tank (UST) at the site. <br /> Following approval of this Workplan letter by you, the San Joaquin County Environmental Health <br /> Department (SJCEHD), and Union Bank of California, Krazan will initiate the described work. <br /> 1 <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The subject site is located immediately south of Industrial Drive and approximately 250 feet west <br /> of McKinley Avenue in Stockton, California. The site us currently occupied by a railroad construction <br /> contractor, H&H Engineering Construction. We understand that a 1,000-gallon underground storage tank <br /> i <br /> (UST) was removed from the subject site in 1987. A soil sample was obtained from a depth of <br /> { approximately seven feet below ground surface during UST removal operations. Analytical testing of this <br /> sample detected minor concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons.
