The site <br /> location is shown on Figure 1. The former locations of monitoring wells MW1, MW2 and MW3 <br /> are depicted on Figure 2. This letter also documents the proper disposal of waste material <br /> generated by the well destruction. <br /> Monitoring Well Destruction <br /> In accordance with our Workplan for Monitoring Well Destruction dated October 15, 2007, the <br /> monitoring wells were destroyed on November 7, 2007 by C-57 licensed V&W Drilling. V&W <br /> removed the wellboxes, overdrilled the wells with 8-inch diameter augers to total depth and <br /> k <br /> backfilled the boreholes to surface grade with neat cement grout emplaced with a tremie system. <br /> Prior to destroying the wells, they were sounded to total depth to ensure no obstructions were r <br /> present. Destruction was witnessed and approved by EHD personnel. A copy of the well I <br /> destruction permit/inspection notice is included in Attachment A. <br /> i 1 <br /> Drill cuttings and debris were underlain and overlain by visqueen plastic and a composite sample <br /> was collected for waste profiling purposes. The sample was submitted to state-certified Argon <br /> Laboratory (ELAP No. 2359) for analysis of total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) by <br /> EPA Method 8015; for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes (BTEX) by EPA Method 8021; for <br /> oxygenate additives and 1,2-dichloroethane (1-2,DCA) by EPA Method 8250 and for LUFT metals <br /> by EPA Method 7000 series. The laboratory report is included in Attachment B. <br /> Water displaced from the wells during grouting was drummed.
