The locations of monitoring wells MW 1, MW2 and MW3
are depicted on Figure 2.
PROPOSED SCOPE OF WORK
'I Monitoring Well Destruction and Waste Profiling
Monitoring wells MW1, MW2 and MW3 are constructed of 2-inch diameter PVC casing and
screen. Total depth ranges from 50 to 52 feet below grade. Well logs are included in Attachment
A. The monitoring wells will be destroyed by C-57 licensed V&W Drilling by removing the
wellboxes, overdrilling, the wells to total depth and backfilling the boreholes to surface grade with
neat cement grout emplaced with a tremie system. Prior to destroying the wells, they will be
sounded to total depth to ensure no obstructions are present.
Drill cuttings and debris will be underlain and overlain by visqueen plastic and a composite sample
will be collected for waste profiling purposes. The sample will be submitted to state-certified
Argon Laboratory (ELAP No. 2359) for analysis of total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline
(TPHg) by EPA Method 8015; for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes (BTEX) and 1,2-
dichloroethane (1-2,DCA) by EPA Method 8260 and for LUFT metals by EPA Method 6010.
Following the receipt of analytical results the waste will be profiled and properly disposed of, f/
G:\GROUNDZF\W-EIREPORTS\WcllDestWKPLAN.doc
