Project No 034.97252
Page No S
groundwater was not encountered within a depth of 40 feet during our exploration Discussions with
regulatory agencies have indicated that groundwater levels in San Joaquin County are currently near
historic highs due the heavy rainfall during this year and recent years Based on this, seasonal groundwater
levels would not be expected to rise significantly above a depth of 40 feet at the site
Because very low concentrations of ethyl benzene and total xylyenes were detected in the Boring
P2 soil sample from a depth of 40 feet, and since the actual groundwater depth at the site has not been
determined, it is unknown whether groundwater has been impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons associated
with the former UST Nonetheless, the very low petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations measured at depth
and the demonstrated vertical and horizontal attenuation indicate that significant impact to groundwater at
the site is unlikely Furthermore, since the former UST area is located on the order of 100 feet from the
nearest property boundary, it is our opinion that is is unlikely that any groundwater contamination (if
present) beneath the site would extend beyond the site boundaries
IWe understand that no groundwater wells (domestic, municipal, or monitoring) are on the subject
site Our scope did not include comprehensive identification of receptors in the area, however it is unlikely
Ithat there are groundwater wells being used for domestic purposes in the near vicinity because public water
supply is provided to the area
Based on the information described herein, it is our opinion that the former gasoline UST has not
created a significant soil contamination condition (due to low concentrations and limited extent)
Furthermore, it is unlikely that a significant groundwater contamination condition is related to the former
gasoline UST However, groundwater conditions beneath the site are unknown, and groundwater sampling
and analysis would be required to provide definitive groundwater quality information
' 12.0 LIMITATIONS
The conclusions presented above are based upon the agreed upon scope of work outlined in the
above report Consultant makes no guarantees as to the accuracy of completeness of information obtained
from others It is possible that information exists beyond the scope of this investigation Additional
information which was not available to Consultant at the time of writing the Report may result in a
modification of the conclusions and recommendations presented The Services performed by Consultant
have been conducted in a manner consistent with the level of care ordinarily exercised by members of our
profession currently practicing under similar conditions This report is not a legal opinion, but may under
KRAZAN&ASSOCIATES,INC
Offices Serving the Western United States
1497752 REP
