PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT <br /> A minimum of US EPA level D protection will be required within the exclusion <br /> zone for any workers engaged in sample collection or other activltles on this <br /> site. Level D protection will include, <br /> o Disposable Tyvek coverall (When in contact with <br /> contaminated material) <br /> o Boots with steel toe <br /> o Splash goggles or safety glasses <br /> o Chemical resistant disposable gloves (When In <br /> contact with contaminated material) <br /> o Hard hats <br /> Level C protection will be required if PID readings exceeding 10 ppm over <br /> background concentration are recorded In the workers breathing zone Level C <br /> protection will consist of; <br /> o Disposable Tyvek coverall <br /> o Boots with steel toe <br /> o Chemical resistant boot covers <br /> o Splash goggles <br /> o Chemical resistant disposal gloves (inner) <br /> o Chemical resistant outer gloves <br /> o MSHA/NIOSH approved half-mask air-purifying <br /> respirator with dual organic vapor cartridges <br /> PID readings exceeding 250 ppm in the workers breathing zone will require <br /> work stoppage and site evacuation An explosion proof fan may be used to <br /> vent the work area. <br /> DECONTAMINATION <br /> During all field operations, care will be taken to minimize contact with <br /> soils and groundwater. Drilling spoils and developmental water will be <br /> stored on-site for proper treatment or disposal This will minimize contact <br /> and dispersion of potentially contaminated materials. <br /> a <br /> 2 <br />
