Box 20
Stockton, California 95201
Re: Quarterly Monitoring Report, Ekholm Property, Escalon
California
Dear Ms. Birkie,
Enclosed is a copy of the quarterly monitoring report (third quarter 1995) for
the Ekholm Property, 1702 Jackson Street, Escalon. This quarterly monitoring
report is the final report that Clearwater Group, Inc. will submit regarding the
subject location.
In summary, no hydrocarbons were detected in groundwater samples
collected on September 15, 1995. These results are in agreement with past
analyses indicating that hydrocarbons have had no significant--imp ct on
groundwater quality at this site.
As of September 15, the soil vapor extraction (SVE) system was still operating
with all five wells on-line; an estimated 175 pounds of hydrocarbons have
been removed from the subsurface by the SVE system. Most of the
hydrocarbons have been removed from vapor wells VW-2, VW-4, and VW-5;
vapor samples from VW-1 and VW-3 continue to contain either
nondetectable or very low concentrations of hydrocarbons.
Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) was instructed to forward all future electrical
bills to Smith Environmental as of October 20, 1995. 1 forwarded the final
PG&E invoice to Ms. Jeanne Homsey for payment. The final invoice for
Clearwater's services will be forwarded to Neumiller & Beardslee later this
week.
Copies of the quarterly monitoring report will be forwarded to Ms. Linda
Turkatte of the San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental
Health Department (PHS/EHD). I have enclosed an extra copy of the
quarterly monitoring report so that you may.forward it to Mrs. Ekholm.
1123 Atlantic Avenue- Suite 102•Alameda •California • 94501 • (510)337-6730 • Pax(510)523,- 84
