Please submit a <br /> completed permit application. and the associated $89. 00 fee to <br /> this office by May 3, 1993. <br /> The use of the previously excavatedisoii from the former gasoline <br /> tank pit area to backfill the open excavation is acceptable at <br /> this time. The need to mitigate the residual levels of <br /> contamination noted in this soil will be determined upon the <br /> evaluation of the results of the investigation to be conducted on <br /> the soils underlying the former gasoline tanks. 1 <br /> The proposed over-excavation' of the:former diesel tank pit area <br /> and the former 'waste.-oil-tank`pit area- can"be scheduled to begin <br /> after the completion of the public participation period. PHS/EHD <br /> must conduct public participation for any corrective action <br /> proposed at underground storage tank sites pursuant to Section <br /> 2728, Chapter 16 of the California Code of Regulations. <br /> An "Executive Summary" will need tobe prepared and submitted to <br /> PHS/EHD prior to the initiation of the public participation <br /> period. The "Executive Summary" should be a brief one page <br /> explanation of the over-excavation remedial option chosen for <br /> these two former tank pit areas. The summary should be written <br /> so that it can be easily understoodby the general„public. <br /> PHS/EHD will initiate the public participation process upon ` <br /> receipt of the "Executive Summary".,.
