Working To Restore Nature <br /> preserved under chain-of-custody documentation Three to four soil samples from each <br /> ' well/boring were submitted for analysis Sample selection was based upon previous analytical <br /> data and field observations Analytical results are summarized in Table 1 Laboratory reports <br /> are presented in Appendix D <br /> ' 5.3 Installation of Groundwater Monitoring Wells <br /> Groundwater was encountered at approximately 69 feet below grade The wells were constructed <br /> of 4-inch diameter F480 PVC 020 slot screen and 4-inch diameter F480 PVC casing The wells <br /> were screened between approximately 65 and 85 feet below surface grade RMC Lonestar No 3 <br /> sand was utilized for a filter pack Two feet of bentonite was placed above the filter pack prior <br /> to sealing the wells with neat cement A water-tight locking cap was placed on each well casing <br /> and a water-tight wellbox was concreted over the top of the well Well construction details are <br /> included in Appendix C <br /> ' Subsequent to well completion, the wellheads were surveyed and tied to a common arbitrary <br /> datum estimated from the United States Geological Survey 7.5 minute Escalon Quadrangle Map <br /> The wells were then monitored for free product and depth to water readings were collected The <br /> wellhead survey data and groundwater monitoring data are presented in Table 2 Surveying and <br /> ' monitoring field notes are presented in Appendix E <br /> 5.4 Installation of Vapor Extraction Wells <br /> Vapor Extraction wells were constructed of 4-inch diameter F480 PVC 0 020 slot screen and <br /> ' 4-inch diameter F480 PVC casing The wells were screened between 20 and 50 feet below <br /> surface grade RMC Lonestar No 3 sand was utilized for a filter pack Two feet of bentonite <br /> was placed above the filter pack prior to sealing the well with neat cement. A water-tight <br /> locking cap was placed on each well casing and a water-tight wellbox was concreted over the <br /> top of the well Vapor well construction details are included in Appendix C <br /> 150047M-031594 FNL 6 <br />
