CLEARWATER
G R O U2, I N C
6.0 RECOMMENDATIONS
Results of analysis of groundwater samples collected during this phase of activity are
I generally consistent with those of previous sampling events, with the exception of
the low concentrations of ethylbenzene, toluene and xylene isomers detected in the
sample collected from MW-4 The source of these volatile compounds has not been
determined Concentrations are below State action levels It is recommended that
quarterly sampling continue without program modification in order to verify the
occurrence of these compounds
The soil vapor extraction system will continue to run Operation and maintenance
visits to the site will be made weekly Air samples will be taken periodically to
maintain compliance with the SJVUAPCD air emissions limits and monitor system
effectiveness It is recommended that a respiration test be completed following the
completion of the next full quarter of system operation. The respiration test will
measure the rate of microbial degredation, and enable an estimation of the duration
of site cleanup activity A letter detailing respiration test protocol will be forwarded
to the PHS/EHD prior to test completion It is anticipated that the test results will be
incorporated into the next quarterly report
1
1
D-102 IQ95 5 May 14, 1995
1
