• r
r Mr Kyle Chnstie
October 31, 1995
Page 3
1
accidental releases Because the GWETS operation has been terminated, Industnal Waste
Discharge Permit No 151, that allowed discharge of the treated groundwater to the City of Lodi
industnal sewer, has been suspended
The SVETS consists of eight soil vapor extraction wells (VE-1 through VE-8) and a soil vapor
treatment system The soil vapor treatment system is composed of a vacuum compressor pump
connected to a vapor phase biofilter with a design treatment flow rate of 50 cubic feet per minute
(cfm) of vapor The system is currently operated under Permit-to-Operate No N-1081-1-1
issued by the San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District (SJVUAPCD) on
August 1, 1995 Source compliance data have been collected on the biofilter system since start-
up on May 11, 1995 Photoionization detector (P I D ) readings and analytical data collected
from the biofilter influent were presented to SJVUAPCD dunng the third quarter with the
request for Permit-to-Operate No N-1081-1-1
Operating Conditions This Quarter. The SVETS operated 100 percent of the time at an
average flow rate of 22 cfm during this quarter Vapors were extracted from wells V-3, V-4,
V-5, V-b, V-7, and V-8 The current, historical, and total concentrations of BTEX and TPH-G
in the extracted soil vapor are shown in Table 4 Table 5 summanzes the status of the soil vapor
extraction wells and analytical results from the individual wells Figure 3 represents the inferred
vacuum across the site as provided by measurements taken on September 18, 1995 The line of
"influence" (determined as 0 1 inches of water, vacuum) is approximated by interpolating from
i vacuum readings taken at each well, and adjusting for depth to the well screen
Dunn-0 the third quarter of 1995, 42 pounds (7 gallons) of TPH-G were removed This
represents an average removal rate of about 0 5 pounds per day for this reporting period No
measurable amount of benzene was removed during the third quarter
SUMMARY OF WORK
Work Completed in Third Quarter 1995
• Continued monitoring SVETS and optimized Biofilter system performance
• Submitted second quarter 1995 groundwater monitonng and remediation system
evaluation report
• Sampled site groundwater monitonng wells for third quarter 1995 Sampling
performed by EMCON
• Use or disclosure of data contained on this sheet is subject to the restriction specified at the beginning of this document
2065\REPQRT9\3RD95QTR DOC
