'Y/ <br /> L <br /> • WORK PLAN <br /> FOR <br /> DESTRUCTION OF OFF-SITE GROUNDWATER MONITORING WELL W-6 <br /> FOR ARCO FACILITY 434, LODI, CALIFORNIA <br /> This work plan has been prepared by Brown and Caldwell on behalf of ARCO Products <br /> Company (ARCO) The proposed work is to provide for the destruction of the off-site <br /> groundwater monitoring well W-6 in the vicinity of ARCO Station 434, located at 501 West <br /> Kettleman Lane, Lodi, California (Figure 1) The well box and the top of the casing of <br /> groundwater monitoring well W-6 was destroyed during construction of a Boston Chicken <br /> restaurant adjacent to the well The well was relocated by a ground penetrating radar survey <br /> performed by a Boston Chicken subcontractor The work plan will be submitted to ARCO, <br /> the County of San Joaquin Environmental Health Division (County), and the California <br /> Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) The proper well destruction well permit <br /> will be obtained prior to destroying the off-site groundwater monitoring well The Site Safety <br /> and Health Plan (SSHP) prepared from a master plan for all northern California ARCO <br /> stations with site specific information, dated December 20, 1994, will be followed and <br /> retained on-site during the field work (Exhibit A) <br /> This work plan describes the methods to be used in the field to destroy the off-site <br /> . groundwater monitoring well This plan proposes a project schedule for work at the site and <br /> the timely submittal of a site summary report to the County and RWQCB after the completion <br /> of this work <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> This section describes the proposed scope of work for the destruction of off-site groundwater <br /> monitoring well W-6 Figure 2 shows the location of well W-6 <br /> Monitoring Well Destruction <br /> The destruction of the well will be in accordance with County and State well destruction <br /> procedures Groundwater monitoring well W-6 is a 2-inch-diameter, flush-threaded schedule <br /> 40 polyvinyl chloride (PVC) monitoring well, with approximately 40 feet of riser and 30 feet <br /> of 0 020-mch slotted casing (Figure 3) The well will be over-drilled using a truck-mounted <br /> drilling rig equipped with 8 25-inch-outside-diameter hollow-stem augers to the bottom of the <br /> well, approximately 70 feet below ground surface.
