Changes to these specified items of PPE will not be made without the approval of <br /> the site safety officer. <br /> While working on site, field personnel will wear hard hat, steel toe boots, disposable <br /> gloves, and work clothes. In addition, for traffic hazards, high-visibility vests will be <br /> worn. <br /> Environmental Monitoring .Plan <br /> The potential hazards identified in the hazard analysis Portion of this SSHP indicate <br /> that environmental monitoring will not be necessary for this project. <br /> Medical Surveillance Requirements <br /> Medical surveillance is conducted as a routine program which meets rhe requirements <br /> of 29 CFR 1910.120 <br /> (f). There will not be any special medical tests or examinations <br /> required for staff involved in this project. <br /> t Site Control Measures <br /> a <br /> The BC Project Geologist, Ms. Jeanne Wallberg, will be in charge of on-site activities <br /> and will be responsible for site control. A map of the site is included as Figure 2. The <br /> active work area will be defined by safety tape, cones, or other suitable methods. <br /> Communications between field team members will consist of verbal communication. <br /> i <br /> Work Practices. Safe work practices to be employed during the entire progress of <br /> field work are as follows: <br /> 1. Set up, assemble, and check out all equipment for inte t and <br /> zintegrity proper function <br /> prior to starting work activities. <br /> 2. Do not use faulty or suspect equipment. <br /> f <br /> 3. Use only new.and intact protective clothing. Change the suit, gloves, etc. if they <br /> tear. <br /> 4. Do not use hands to wipe sweat away from face. Use a clean towel or paper <br /> towels. <br /> 5. Practice contamination avoidance at all times. <br /> t 6. Do not smoke, eat, drink or apply cosmetics while working. <br /> i <br /> t <br />
