Hard hat with optional face shield. <br /> 2. Steel-toed boots. <br /> 3. Gloves. <br /> To prevent direct skin contact, the following protective clothing will be available for. <br /> personnel working on site and shall be worn if deemed necessary by the on-site <br /> hydrogeologist: <br /> 1. Breathable tyvek coveralls or cotton coveralls. <br /> 2. Disposable vinyl gloves,changed between samples. <br /> _ 3. Goggles to guard against spla,h unless face shield is used. <br /> No eating, drinking, or smoking will be allowed within 50 feet of the drilling and <br /> f sampling operations. No contact lenses will be wom by sampling personnel. <br /> 1 <br /> First Aid <br /> _ <br /> On-site personnel will be informed of the symptoms related to exposure to significant <br /> j concentrations of gasoline. Immediate symptoms include irritation of the respiratory <br /> passages; headache; dizziness; lightheadedness; uncoordination; nausea, vomiting; and <br /> eventually unconsciousness. In the event that any on-site personnel experience such <br /> symptoms,operations will be stopped and.medical attention will be obtained as required. <br /> ' First aid for chemical exposure is as follows: <br /> 7 <br /> a Direct Contact <br /> Bldu--Remove contaminated clothing immediately. Flush affected area immediately <br /> r with ample amounts of water,then wash with soap and water. <br /> Eyes--Hold the eyelid open and flush with copious amounts of water. <br /> t <br /> Inhalation <br /> 77 <br /> Remove the victim to fresh air immediately;give artificial respiration as necessary. <br /> I In case of a major exposure of any kind, obtain medical help immediately. BC will <br /> identify local medical facilities before work begins, and a list of emergency numbers will be <br /> ava::able during operations. <br />
